If you hadn't added that second sentence it could have started a really good board rumor, Critter.

My most awesome neighbor came up with his farm tractor and plowed my driveway!! What a great guy! And he went to my mom and dad's and did theirs, too.
We've got about 6 inches on the ground. Now I need to go out and shovel my car out. Maybe make a path to the car. . .

I'm happy today because I got my Praxis II scores today, or should I say that I did not get them. What came instead was a cover for a certificate and a letter that said excellence. After I read it I discovered that I had scored amongst the top 15% of the people who have ever taken the Praxis II in Social Studies Content Knowledge.
I wanted to see my scores, but this will do. It will allow me to amend my license from history only to social studies. That means that I can teach political science, history, geography, economics (I hope not), psychology, anthropology and sociology.
I was massively concerned that I was going to fail as I have never completed a political science class and only had a few geography and economics courses as well as having taken some of the rest almost 30 years ago, this year.
So I was so, so, so happy.
Thanks for reading my rant.
Peace to all, Shaotie.

I got a new Laptop! It is a Dell XPS 15.4" HiRes screen 2.6GHz 4GB 200GB
I figured since I had to get Vista, I would go all out and I got Vista Ultimate.
It has a fingerprint reader. Took me forever to set it up and now I can't get in with it. Good thing I have a password too.
It has bluetooth, wireless USB and a Bluray slot load reader/writer.
I have to say there is a huge difference when watching a DVD. Now I have to decide if I should keep it or send it back/ it was about $4000 but I got it for just under 3K because I have an NYU alumni discount.
For that amount of money, I'm expecting it to wash my floors and clean my windows.
I'm still working at the same job. M boss is changing accountants and told the new one only to talk to me. He doesn't want to know about it. I HATE accounting. Aren't I supposed to be a techie?? Where did I go wrong?
Oh, wait. I forgot this was a happy thread.
Back to my laptop - it is white. You can watch DVDs without booting windows. Just the press of a button. The fan is a bit loud.

Congrats Shaotie and Rox!
I'm happy today because my friend and I are going to see the new rom-com "Definitely, Maybe", and then meeting her hubby for a steak dinner.
Happy Valentine's Day!

What an achievement Shaotie! (I almost put "honor" but you earned it!) In other words you're in the top 15% of all teachers who even attempted the Social Studies Praxis Test? That's not all teachers is it? Whatever the case, that test just confirmed what we already knew. You have a wide knowledge base and a succinct way to communicating it---the latter's the teacher in you.
This should make the rest of your teaching career vastly more interesting for you.
Congrats to our own little Social Studies Wiki girl.
I'm happy for you too.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome laptop. I have a significantly downscale laptop gotten last July, and it love to watch DVDs and Netflix on-demand movies on it. I bought a pair of Bose external speakers which make my little tinny speakers disappear.
I love the sound of that fingerprint device.
Passwords. My bane.
Have fun with your new toy/deductible work device....

Thanks Roz and Flagday. Now my friends and family are suggesting that I go back and get a Ph.D. and become a professor. We'll see. I really thought that I had put that goal out of my mind.
Anyway, I'm just too, too over proud of myself and need to calm down. But thanks again alot for the praise. It is really appreciated.
Pece to you, Shaotie.
